Small Shop Lab (“we”, “us”) operates smallshoplab.com. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you subscribe to our newsletter or send a message through our contact page, we collect the name and email address you provide.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, time spent, and the site you arrived from.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies to run the site, understand how it is used, and show advertising.

  • Necessary cookies keep the site working. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) tell us which pages are read and how people arrive. This data is aggregated.
  • Advertising cookies are set by Google and its partners to show and measure ads.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Display advertising is not running on this site yet; before it starts, visitors in the EU, UK and other covered regions will be shown a consent notice wherever the law requires one, and these choices can be changed at any time.

The first time you visit, a small notice asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. Until you choose “Accept”, analytics and advertising cookies are switched off — this site sets them through Google Consent Mode, which starts in the denied state. Only the cookies needed to make the site work are used before that. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored in your own browser, not on our server, so clearing your browser data will make the notice appear again.

Advertising

Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics places cookies and may collect your IP address. You can prevent this with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the merchant may set a cookie to record that you arrived from us so any commission can be attributed. This does not affect the price you pay. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Email

If you join our newsletter, your email address is stored with our email provider and used only to send the newsletter and occasional related messages. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell, rent or share your email address.

How we use information

To operate and improve the site, respond to your messages, send the newsletter you asked for, show and measure advertising, and detect abuse or technical problems.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the site work — hosting, analytics, advertising and email delivery — and where required by law.

Data retention

Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to answer them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at the address on our Contact page and we will respond within 30 days.

California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information and may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information for money.

Security

We use HTTPS across the site and take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party links

Posts here link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will always show when. Material changes will be noted on the site.
